MILFORD – Ruth Sholtey, 96, Milford, passed away at 10:10 a.m. April 17, 2015, at I.U. Health, Goshen. She was born April 4, 1919, in Kosciusko County, to Frank and Elizabeth Booze Hoover. On Jan. 21, 1941, she married Vernon Sholtey, who preceded her in death. She worked as a homemaker, raising her children and taking care of her family. She attended Clearview Church. Surviving are her four children: Wayne (and spouse Marcia) and Jim Sr. (and spouse Martha) Sholtey, Ruth Faye (and spouse Russ) Ivison and Sally Thomas; six grandchildren: Mary, Jim Jr., Loretta and Lydia Sholtey; David (and spouse Shawna) and Hannah Ivison; and four great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Deborah Ivison and Rebecca Sholtey; two sisters, Esther (and spouse Cloyd) Rusk and Edna (and spouse Paul) Meyer; and one brother, Walter (and spouse Alice) Hoover. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, with the Rev. Hubert Schmucker officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.
