NORTH WEBSTER – Ruth M. Wagoner, 96, North Webster, passed away at 2:33 p.m. Jan. 6, 2015, at her residence. She was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Banquo, to Elmer L. and Zephy V. Roberts Spaulding. On Nov. 3, 1946, in Marion, she married Burr J. Wagoner, who preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1993. She was raised in Huntington and Grant counties, and graduated in 1936 from Van Buren High School. She lived in Marion after she was married until 1961, then moved to Antioch, where she lived before moving to North Webster in 1966. She was a homemaker, former co-owner/operator of Sinclair/Arco Service Station in North Webster during the late 1960s and 1970s, and was formerly employed at Fee’s His & Her Shop, North Webster. She formerly attended the Methodist Church in Banquo and the Syracuse Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, embroidery, drawing, painting, cooking and gardening, and was an avid euchre player well into her 90s. She is survived by three nephews: Garl (and spouse Abby) Campbell, Huntington; Lester Spaulding, Van Buren; and Melvin (and spouse Kathy) Spaulding, North Manchester; eight great-nieces and -nephews; and several great-great-nieces and -nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry L. Wagoner, who died in August 2002; two sisters, Leona A. Spaulding and Gonvard Campbell; and a brother, Marcus W. Spaulding. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial is in the Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery.
