Ruth L. Bishop

NORTH MANCHESTER – Ruth L. Bishop, 96, of North Manchester, died at 1 a.m. March 15, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Miami County, to Charles and Mae Murphy Walker. On Dec. 28, 1935, she married Kempies M. Bishop, who died Aug. 3, 2003. She was a homemaker and worked at Controls Company of America, North Manchester, for nine years and Burch’s Corner Cupboard, North Manchester for several years. Surviving are two sons, LeRoy (and spouse Dorcas) Bishop, North Manchester, and Gerald “Gerry” Bishop, Fort Wayne; a brother, Robert (and spouse Ruby) Walker, Wabash; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and four sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Ed French officiating.
