Ruth Elizabeth King, 93, of 400 W. 7th St., North Manchester, died at 5:24 a.m. Feb. 26, 2011, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Atlanta, Ga., to Herbert and Mary Izora Nelms Clark. She married Paul Wesley King, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker while living in Wabash County and lived at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, for the past six years. She attended Harvest Community Church, Pierceton, and was a member of Tenth Street United Methodist Church, Atlanta, for 45 years. For a number of years she worked as an Atlanta traffic officer.

Surviving are a son, Rodney (and spouse Nancy) King, South Whitley; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastors Glenn Hall and Hedgel Lee Perry officiating. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta.

Calling is from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
