Ruth E. Davis, 98, of 337 Grace Village Drive, Winona Lake, died at 9:50 p.m. Feb. 7, 2009, in Grace Village, Winona Lake.
She was born Aug. 20, 1910, in Lima, Ohio, to Carl and Lizzie Peters Bube. She married Arthur Backfisch, who preceded her in death.
Living in Dayton, Ohio, and Clearwater, Fla., she was a beautician and worked at GM, Dayton.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeralyn (and spouse Marvin), Meeker, Warsaw; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Services are pending at Blount Curry & Roel Funeral Homes, Clearwater, Fla. Burial will be in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater.
No calling is planned.
