AKRON – Ruth E. Burch, 92, of 836 E. Grant St., Marion, and formerly of Disko, died at 7:20 a.m. July 16, 2011, in her residence.
She was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Huntington County, to Fred Charles and Alice Bradford. On Dec. 28, 1952, in Wabash, she married Estel G. Burch, who died March 10, 1994.
She worked at General Tire, Wabash, for 27 years.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Jane Ann (and spouse Larry) Kennedy. Muncie, and Carol Jean (and spouse Dallas) Scott, Hendersonville, Tenn.; a stepson, Larry (and spouse Judy) Burch, Indianapolis; a step-daughter-in-law, Jane Ann Burch, Warsaw; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, John (and spouse Barbara) Charles, Swayzee; a sister, Joan (and spouse Don) Malott, Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and a niece-in-law, Donna Shaneberger Shepherd, North Manchester. Also preceding her in death are a stepson, David Lee Burch; two brothers, Bud and George Charles; three sisters, Eloise Harrell, Ann Turner and Mary Randolph; and a nephew, Edward Shaneberger.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Terry Canfield officiating. Burial will be in Akron Cemetery.
