NORTH MANCHESTER – Russell M. Gamsby Jr., 75, Silver Lake, died at 12:22 p.m. April 19, 2015, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1939, in Queens, N.Y., to Russell M. Sr. and Edna Mae Harney Gamsby. On June 26, 1970, he married Marilyn S. Quinn West, who survives. He retired from Invensys Controls, North Manchester, in 2003 after 40 years. He attended Olive Branch Church of God, Roann. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He also enjoyed camping at Jellystone Park, Pierceton, where he also loved pitching horseshoes. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1518, North Manchester, for 48 years. Also surviving are five sons: Russell M. III and Richard A. Gamsby, both of Morehead, Ky.; Ronnie L. Gamsby, Stanton, Calif.; Terry R. (and spouse Sharon) West Jr., Warsaw; and Richard West, North Manchester; a daughter, Mary Anne (and spouse Doug) Jenkins, North Manchester; a brother, Robert (and spouse Sally) Gamsby, Wabash; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Services will be at noon Thursday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
