NORTH MANCHESTER – Russell Farley Jr., 85, of North Manchester, and formerly of Sidney, died at 3:22 a.m. March 14, 2012, in Wabash County Hospital.
He was born April 4, 1926, in Liberty Mills, to Russell Sr. and Veva Rickert Farley. On April 7, 1946, he married Devona M. Warner, who survives.
He was a farmer and a foreman in the cabinet department of Whitley Manufacturing for 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Missionary Church, North Manchester. He was a 20-year member of the Monroe Township Advisory Board and was the representative of Monroe Township on the Kosciusko Community Hospital Board for five years. He graduated from Sidney High School in 1944 and was a charter member of the Sidney Lions Club.
Also surviving are a son, Blaine W. (and spouse Becky) Farley, Fishers; a daughter, Linda (and spouse George) Geaugh, Pierceton; two sisters, Arlene Merriett, North Manchester, and Barbara (and spouse Jim) Sorlie, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Dan Binkley officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
