AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team finished as runner-up at its own tournament Saturday. Hosting their Thanksgiving Classic, the Lady Vikings defeated Munster 74-45 in the opening game, but fell 78-42 in the title game to Noblesville. In their win, sophomore Caylie Teel led Valley with 17 points, followed by junior Cara Hoffman’s 14 and sophomore Taylor Trippiedi’s 13. Teel also led Valley with four steals, while junior Sara Alexander and Trippiedi each had a team-high four rebounds and Hoffman posted a team-best four assists in opening game. Against Noblesville, Hoffman and Trippiedi each netted 11 points, as Valley evened it season record at 2-2. Up next for the Lady Vikings is a home game against Plymouth Thursday. Led by senior KiLee Knafel’s 30-point effort, the Wawasee girls basketball team got a 55-33 win at Prairie Heights Saturday, improving to 5-0 on the year.
