After an overnight stop at the Akron Community Center, participants in America’s Run For The Fallen made their way across Kosciusko County into Whitley County along Ind. 14 early today. The run went through Silver Lake this morning, in the above photo, before proceeding to South Whitley. The group was expected to pass through Columbia City, before heading to Fort Wayne for the night. The run began on April 7 on Fort Irwin, Calif., and is expected to end Aug. 5 in Arlington National Cemetery, in Arlington, Va. The runners stop every mile to remember one soldier killed in the line of duty since the attack on the USS?Cole Oct. 12, 2000. Each day the team covers between 45 and 55 miles. From Fort Wayne, the team will visit Portland, Anderson, Indianapolis, Gosport, Sandborn and Princeton before going through Evansville and entering Kentucky on June 30.
