In June, my husband and I bought the old Sheradon Enterprises building on Union Street, or most people know it as the old lawnmower shop.
We bought it in the hopes of renovating it and starting a business, hoping to save a historical structure here in town from demolition. Sometime after 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the property that we own at 202 S. Union St. was burglarized.
The thieves parked in front, on Union Street, and pried the door open on Market Street and made off with thousands of dollars worth of tools. You could even see drag marks in the snow where they dragged a metal tool box down the sidewalk to load it up.
My husband's birthday was Dec. 15, and my children and I bought him tools for his birthday and even those were stolen. Needless to say, our Christmas was ruined, not just for my husband and I, but my children as well.
To hear them asking me how someone could do that, and the day after Christmas no less, is heartbreaking. I am asking anyone who was in that area on Saturday morning who may have seen a vehicle parked there or heard something or seen anyone with a load of tools to call the Warsaw Police Department at 547-372-9511.
The building is located at the corner of Union and Market Streets. So, again, if you have any information, please call the police.
