Rugby Action In Full Swing

Action for Warsaw’s boys and girls ruby teams is in full swing.
Both teams received byes in the first round of the state tournament due to finishing their regular seasons undefeated, with the boys at 6-0 in Division II and the girls 6-0 in Division I.
It was a first for the boys since 2003 when Warsaw Rugby started and had never made it to the second round of playoffs.  The girls  won state in 2005 and also finished runner-up in last year’s state tournament.
The boys team is in action tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Leo at the Grace College rugby field, located at 1300 E. Wooster Rd. in Winona Lake.
The girls will play tomorrow at the same location and time against South Bend.
The winners of round two will move onto to the Northern Semistate game Saturday.  The winners of the semistate will then play in the state championship on May 31 at Moose Grounds in Elkhart.
The boys team is comprised of players from Warsaw, Whitko and Plymouth, while the girls have players from Warsaw, Triton and Manchester.
