Ruby Meade, 88, of 3708 N. Prairie St., Warsaw, died at 1:14 a.m. Jan. 24, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Paintsville, Ky., to Elliott and Cressie Spencer Ratliff. In 1937, in Prestonsburg, Ky., she married Sam Meade, who died In 1973.
Living in Warsaw since 1943, she was a housekeeper at Miller's Merry Manor and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Surviving are four daughters: Mary (and spouse Frank) Hall, Warsaw; Emma Jean Hurd, Larwill; Evelyn (and spouse Bill) Marsillett, Prestonsburg; and Sharon (and spouse Dave) Perkins, Salyersville, Ky.; a son, Sam (and spouse Bonnie) Meade, Trenton, Ohio; two brothers, Everett (and spouse Dolly) Ratliff, Columbus, Ohio, and Ora Ratliff, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Bessie Jackson, Warsaw; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, David Lee, Pauil and Adam Meade; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Meade; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Glenn E. Hall officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
