FORT WAYNE – Roy S. Greener, 88, a resident of rural Fort Wayne, and widely acquainted Lake Township farmer, died at 3:14 p.m. Oct. 11, 2012, in Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Lake Township, to Otto and Anna McCormick Greener. On Aug. 14, 1948, in Lake Township, he married Della M. Emrich, who preceded him in death Oct. 20, 2002. He was a lifelong resident of rural Allen County where he was engaged in farming all of his life, and resided at his present farm home since 1950. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church-Lake Township, and Harmony Lodge 19 IOOF, Fort Wayne. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are two daughters, Linda (and spouse Daniel) Neff, North Webster, and Phyllis (and spouse Scott) Gates, Columbia City; one son, Roger L. Greener (and partner Gary Lutz), San Jose, Calif.; one brother, James H. (and spouse Norma) Greener, Huntertown; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Lake Township, 7914 W. Cook Road, with Pastor Ralph Easterhaus officiating. Burial will be in the mausoleum at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
