WABASH – Roy Leslie Kinsey, 97, North Manchester, died at 12:33 a.m. April 15, 2014, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born May 25, 1916, in Claypool, to Harry and Mabel Bowen Kinsey. On March 12, 1938, in Claypool, he married Ethel I. Slack, who died May 27, 2013. He was a 1934 graduate of Claypool High School. He was a farmer, a carpenter, he owned a hatchery in Claypool 19 years, and he worked at Frantz Lumber Company in North Manchester 16 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Wabash. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and I.U. basketball. He is survived by three children: David (and spouse Carolyn) Kinsey, Harned, Ky.; Anne (and spouse Dr. Robert) Steele, Sebring, Fla.; and Mary (and spouse Stan) Willmert, Wabash; seven grandchildren: Andrew (and spouse Lacey) Montgomery, Chicago, Ill.; Scott Montgomery, Kokomo; Stephanie Kinsey, Bloomington; Marienne Kinsey, Indianapolis; Konrad (and spouse Julie) Willmert, Jonesboro; Kristopher (and spouse Stephanie) Willmert and Anne (and spouse Angel Jordán) Willmert, both of Wabash; and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Russell and Keith Kinsey. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, 173 Hale Drive, Wabash, with Pastor Jeremy Yeadon officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. ***** Memorials to Zion Lutheran Church.
