SYRACUSE - Rosemary Griffith, 91, of Syracuse, died Jan. 29, 2011, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Fort Wayne, to Oscar and Stella Beuter Schirmeyer. On Oct. 25, 1947, she married Laurence Griffith, who survives.
She and Larry moved to Lake Wawasee from Fort Wayne in 1947, and for many years they wintered in Deerfield Beach, Fla. She was a former secretary at Central Soya, Fort Wayne. She also was co-owner of Griffith's Wawasee Marina. She was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Syracuse.
Surviving are four children, Terry (and spouse Karen) Griffith, Dan (and spouse Richele) Griffith and Lisa (and spouse Dan) Mikolajcczak, all of Syracuse, and Andrea (and spouse Mark) Stinson, Anderson; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Bitting, Texas; and a brother, William Schirmeyer, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dick Schirmeyer.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will be private in McClintic Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
