DALEVILLE – Rosella F. Lamb, 88, Daleville, passed away Dec. 22, 2014, in I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born July 24, 1926, in a farmhouse near Daleville, to Ralph and Florence McWilliams Martin. She was married to Robert Lowell, who died in 2011. She was a 1944 graduate of Daleville High School, and she received her bachelor’s degree in home economics, physical education and business from Ball State Teachers College. She later returned for a master’s degree in education. She taught school in Cadiz, Sulphur Springs and Cowan, and upon retirement, substituted at Anderson, Daleville and Muncie. She belonged to Delta Sigma Epsilon (Delta Zeta); she served as past president of Indiana Angus Auxiliary; was the past president of Grand Guardian Council of Indiana Jobs Daughters; and served as past grand guardian, past worthy matron, of Daleville Order of the Eastern Star 568. She was Daleville Woman’s Club past present, and was a leader in the 4-H club. She was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Madison County Lady Shrine Club, serving as past president and also a board member. She attended Hazelwood Christian Church. She loved to travel, and had been to all but one of the 50 states as well as Europe, Australia, Hawaii and Canada. She loved classical music and opera as well as the Big Band sound. Sewing was her second life, and she loved quilting, knitting, crochet and cross-stitching. Cooking was a specialty, and she loved making yeast rolls. Surviving are two children, Dr. Bruce L. (and spouse Beth) Lamb, Milford, and Merianne (and spouse Jeffrey) Kerr, Carmel; six grandchildren: Heather (and spouse Fred) Lechlitner, Nappanee; Michelle (and spouse Leon) Bontrager, Shipshewana; Annette Lamb, Mulberry; Brent Lamb, Milford; Stefanie (and spouse Bradley) Walker, Sellersburg; and Christopher (and spouse Amber) Kerr, Norman, Okla.; six great-grandchildren: Caleb, Hayden and Halle Lechlitner, Andrew and Ella Kate Walker and Addison Kerr. She also was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard & Sons, 8212 S. Walnut St., Daleville, with members from Jobs Daughters and Order of the Eastern Star officiating. Burial is in Tomlinson Cemetery near Muncie.
