Roscoe Wood, 82, of Warsaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 12:50 p.m. Sept. 19, 2012, in his residence.

He was born March 21, 1930, in Collins, Miss., to John and Calonie Spradley Wood. On March 20, 1971, in North Manchester, he married Sue Hetler, who survives.

He moved to South Bend in 1950 and to the Warsaw area a few years later. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Warsaw.  He was a machinist for Clausing Inc., Warsaw, from 1953-83. After 30 years at Clausing, he then worked at DePuy from 1983 till retiring in 1996. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for many years.

Also surviving are two daughters, Margaret Ann Wood Slone, Warsaw, and Dorothy Wood, Fort Wayne; two sons, DeWayne Wood, North Manchester, and Jason Wood, Warsaw; two sisters, Lucy Freeman, Stringer, Miss., and Bell Marie (and spouse Billy Ray) Williams, Stringer, Miss; two brothers, Johnny (and spouse Merle) Wood and Talmadge (and spouse Margaret) Wood, all of Stringer; seven grandchildren;  and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cecile Wood; a son-in-law, Evert Slone; four brothers, Oliver J., J.W., J.C.  and William Wood; and a nephew, Ernie Williams.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
