NAPPANEE – Rosalie “Rosie” Hepler, 83, of 7 Boulder Court, Nappanee, died at 2:50 p.m. May 24, 2011, in Elkhart General Hospital. She was in declining health for the last couple of months. She was born Sept. 4, 1927, in La Union, N.M., to Thomas and Manuela Bustamante Contreras. On Dec. 19, 1952, in Las Cruces, N.M., she married Charles F. Hepler, who died Jan. 17, 1994. Moving to Nappanee in 1953, she worked in the Army Hospital in Texas, was a waitress and worked at Blue Bell and Choretime. Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary (and spouse Ed) Ryan, Buchanan, Mich.; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Lola Telles, Las Vegas, Nev., and Thomasa Barrava, Esperia, Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Janet McFall-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
