BOURBON - Rosalee Ellen Weissert Racolta, 75, of 608 N. Main St., Bourbon, went to be with the Lord at 4:10 p.m. July 4, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Rosalee was born the daughter of Louis Wendell and Edith Lucille Hartman Weissert on June 5, 1932, at home in Bourbon Township. On June 28, 1975 she married Jack James Racolta, who survives.
A Bourbon area resident all her life, she was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School. She was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary. She was a faithful member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir to share her love for music.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Calhoun, Plymouth; a son, David (and wife Mary) Swihart, Goshen; four stepchildren, Robin Racolta, Jackie (and spouse Lane) Miner and Jan Racolta, all of Bourbon, and Joe Racolta, Syracuse. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Brandon Calhoun, Allison Calhoun, Robert Swihart, Elizabeth Stack, Jeremy Weissert, Jennifer Weissert and Brittney Frenger; two great-grandchildren, William and Austin Weissert; and a sister, Mrs. Bill (Ruth) Kennedy, South Bend.
Funeral services to celebrate Rosalee's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bourbon First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark A. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
There will be a time of visiting and sharing memories with the family today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, and also one hour before services in the church on Saturday.
