MENTONE – Ronnie Hurd, 64, rural Mentone, died at 11 a.m. Sept. 15, 2014, at his residence. He was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Bennie and Dora Anderson Hurd. He retired from Zimmer Orthopedics, where he worked as a machinist. He attended Mentone High School and graduated from Rochester High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the Warsaw American Legion as well as the Syracuse VFW. He loved riding Harleys and hanging out with his buddies. Surviving are a sister, Lynda Blanzy, Las Vegas, Nev.; several cousins; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Devon Hurd. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with military honors by American Legion, Warsaw.
