Ronald “Ron” Jay Reed, 70, passed away at 7:37 p.m. March 23, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. He was born March 6, 1946, in Claypool, to John Raymond and Betty Warren Reed. On Aug. 22, 1965, he married Elaine Rule, who survives in Warsaw. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and was a 1964 graduate of Claypool High School. He was the owner of Reed Construction Inc. from 1972 to 1984, and also Reed Electric Motor Shop, Warsaw. He loved engineering homes and buildings, John Deere tractors, putting puzzles together and especially loved the outdoors. He attended Warsaw Community Church. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Scott J. (and spouse Julie) Reed, Warsaw; a daughter, Jennifer Duncan, Tampa, Fla.; four grandsons: Trey and Alex Duncan, both of Tampa, Fla.; Grant and Griffin Reed, both of Warsaw; three sisters: Reta (and spouse James) Groves, Yellow Creek Lake; Toni (and spouse Charles) Coplen, Akron; and Merry (and spouse John) Tucker, Warsaw; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Don Miller, Ed Habegger and Don Plank officiating.
