Ron "Big Dog" Alan Long

Ron "Big Dog" Alan Long, 51, passed away surrounded by family at 12:26 p.m. Jan. 1, 2017, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. 
He was born March 16, 1965, in Warsaw, to Charles Long Jr. and Betty Beasley Long. He was the youngest of four siblings. 
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and a 1984 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He worked at Merchant Metals, New Paris, and bartended at Warsaw Bowl. 
He lived and loved life on his terms. He was an avid fan of Alabama Clemson Tide and the Buffalo Bills. He followed NASCAR, specifically the career of Rusty Wallace and Tony Stewart. He enjoyed the outdoors and was the grill master for his many friends. He will always be remembered by his friends for his stories, antics, shenanigans and good times. 
He is survived by his sister, Karla Long Riddell (fiancé Floyd McClelen), Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Robert “Bob” (wife Wendy) Long and Roger Long, both of Warsaw; 15 nephews and nieces; and many more great-nephews and great-nieces. 
He was preceded by his parents in 2006 and 2011.  
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. 
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Denny Wilson. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
