SYRACUSE – Roland Smith, 68, of Syracuse, died Oct. 14, 2011, in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Fort Wayne, to Findley and Jeanette Bottern Smith. In 1963, he married Susan Blue, who survives.
He retired from Dana Corp., Fort Wayne, in 2003, after 32 years as an engineer. He was a member of the National Waterski Association.
Also surviving are two sons, Todd (and spouse April) Smith, Perrysburg, Ohio, and Brad (and spouse Cheryl) Smith, Switzerland; a daughter, Paula Fiscus; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor David Herr officiating.
