SYRACUSE – Roger William Peterson, 65, of Syracuse, passed away at 8:07 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1955, in LaGrange, to Robert William and Nancy Lou Whetten Peterson.
He graduated in 1973 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse and lived most of his life in the Syracuse/Milford area. He was married on June 19, 1976, in Milford, to Susan K. “Sue” Nyce, who survives. He was the owner/operator of Peterson’s Fish in Syracuse and formerly owned Dairy Point in Ligonier.
He is survived by wife, Sue Peterson, of Syracuse; daughter, Sonya (Ryan) Taylor, of Syracuse; son, Chad (Jill) Peterson, of North Port, Ala.; four grandchildren: Ben, Mya, Aubrey and Madison; two brothers: Rodney "Pete" (Brenda) Peterson, of Syracuse; and Rick (Anne) Peterson, of Ligonier.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Private family graveside services will be in the Milford Cemetery, with Pastor Brad Cox officiating.
