NEW HAVEN – Roger L. “Flash” Barton, 71, Fort Wayne and formerly of Warsaw, went to be with his heavenly father at 7:02 p.m. June 1, 2015, with his family by his side. He was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Pierceton, to Max Donald and Josephine Richardson Barton. On Aug. 14, 1965, in Ora, he married Susan Moore, who survives. They were given a surprise 50th anniversary party this past May by their family. He loved his family and enjoyed quality time with his kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was past-president of Warsaw Fraternal Order of Eagles #1339, vice president of Indiana State REACT Council and Tri-County REACT. He helped organize the Land O’ Lakes CB club in 1975 and spent many hours helping people. Recently, he and his wife became promoters of the Akron (Go-Kart) Speedway. He loved NASCAR, especially Mark Martin, and enjoyed playing corn hole and horseshoes with family, shuffleboard, pool and go-karts. Also surviving are three daughters: Holly (and spouse John) Davis, Waterford, Calif.; Tracy Abbott, Fort Wayne; LeAnn (and spouse Kevin) Bennett, Warsaw; four sons: Donald (and spouse Kim) Barton and John (and spouse Amanda) Mattson, all of Warsaw; Jason and Cory (and spouse Virginia) Barton, all of Fort Wayne; three siblings: Lily (and spouse Donald) Miller and Larry (and spouse Lori) Barton, all of Warsaw; and Ted (and spouse Laurie) Barton, Melbourne, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; their beloved 34-year-old parrot, Sammy; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and four grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Doug Lemon officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date. Calling is from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and two hours prior to services Monday at the funeral chapel, and from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at E.
