Roger D. Fellows, 75, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:54 a.m. Oct. 18, 2012, in his residence.
He was born March 3, 1937, in Warsaw, to Dayton and Ruth Hildenbrand Fellows. On Oct. 28, 1967, in Warsaw, he married Lynne Prewitt, who survives.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he was a 1955 Warsaw High School graduate and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-62 as a specialist (E 4) as a military policeman with the 524th MP Company, stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served the citizens of Kosciusko County from June 1, 1963, to Sept. 8, 1997, with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. During his career he served as chief deputy from 1965-73 under then Sheriff Dave Andrews, and from 1981-97 he served as lieutenant/jail commander. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, Kosciusko County Fraternal Order of Police and the American Single Shot Rifle Association and a lifetime National Rifle Association member.
Also surviving are a daughter, Amanda Fellows, Indianapolis; a son, Don (and spouse Christy) Fellows, Omaha, Neb.; and grandchildren, Evelyn, Ava and Sophia.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Pastor Dave Hummel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of American Legion Post 49 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1126, both in Warsaw, and the Indiana Army Reserve National Guard.
