The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts will present voice and guitar duo Ryan de Ryke and Brandon J. Acker in concert at 3 p.m. Feb. 28 in the downtown sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. The duo recently debuted their CD, “Franz Schubert: A Wonderer’s Guitar,” and will share their musical artistry in a live performance including a variety of composers and styles, according to a press release from the Series. Acker is a “highly sought out soloist and collaborator” on classical guitar and renaissance lute, the release states. De Ryke is a baritone of “immense vocal range, just as comfortable on the opera stage as in intimate concert settings.” Admission to the concert is free, with donations to the series accepted. The church is accessible to the physically challenged. The Rodeheaver Series is named for the Rodeheaver family, known for their development and support of Christian music in the early 20th century and members of First UMC. The Rodeheaver Series has been bringing the highest caliber of musical and theatrical artists to the area since its inception in 1990, according to the release. Directions to the church, located at the northeast corner of Market and Indiana Streets, is available at www.warsawfumc.org, or by calling the church office at 574-267-6933.
