The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts will present the Indianapolis Opera Ensemble's production of "Don Giovanni" on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. The Indianapolis Opera Ensemble is the resident young artist program of the Indianapolis Opera, and is comprised of young singers selected each year through national auditions. These musical artists and a coach/accompanist travel throughout Indiana and neighboring states with a variety of entertaining and educational programs for children and adults. The Ensemble reaches more than 55,000 students each year with fully staged children's operas, performances of popular opera scenes and interactive residences.
The young artists will present a specially adapted version of Mozart's dark comedy, "Don Giovanni," about a roguish nobleman and the women he pursues. Featuring excerpts from the opera sung in English, the story is woven together by narration presented by the opera's characters.
The concert is free and the public is encouraged to attend. A goodwill offering will be accepted. For directions, call First United Methodist Church of Warsaw at 574-267-6933 or visit online at www.warsawfumc.org
