The Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts is hosting the folk trio String Fever in concert Sunday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, in the downtown sanctuary.
Comprised of two hammered dulcimers and an acoustic guitar, the trio is known for bringing their eclectic blend of music as well as their unique personalities to audiences across the Great Lakes region.
Selections will include gentle waltzes, up-tempo jigs, foot stomping Celtic reels, soothing sounds of the Caribbean and pulsating polka. With the occasional help of a drum track and synthesizer, the band moves into the realm of the Big Bands, with a pop tune or two thrown in for good measure.
Based in northwest Indiana, the members of String Fever are: Mark Janiga, the talkative one who plays the microphone as well as he plays the dulcimer; Paul Horgash, the most animated in the group and the one with the biggest smile; and John Roth, the guitarist - no hammers required.
String Fever's performance, as are all Rodeheaver Series performances, is free of charge, and the public is encouraged to attend.
First United Methodist Church of Warsaw is at the corner of Indiana and Market streets downtown, is handicap accessible, and provides listening assistance. For more information on the Rodeheaver Series for the Performing Arts, or for directions to the church, call the church office at 574-267-6933, e-mail office@warsawfumc.org, or visit the church Web site at www.warsawfumc.org
