FULTON COUNTY - Foul play is not suspected in the death of John Cissna, 40, Rochester, according to police.
Cissna was found dead Thursday afternoon in the Tippecanoe River.As of early Friday morning, the Fulton County Sheriff's Department reported that though no foul play is suspected, the case remains under investigation by the county coroner and sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department was notified about 2:40 p.m. of a body in the river at the public access site near Leiters Ford, a town in Aubbeenaubee Township, in Fulton County.
Family members told WSBT News Cissna left home early Thursday morning. When he didn't return, they started looking for him and found his van parked near the river. They say that's when they spotted his body under a log jam.
Several area emergency services were called to the scene, including the Aubbeenaubee Township and Rochester fire departments and Fulton County EMS.
