Robinson Construction Gets Bid For New CCS Building

Posted
Robinson Construction will serve as the contractor  for building the new Combined Community Services building.
The new facility will be located on Mariner Drive near Martin’s Supermarket.
During an interview Tuesday, Stephen Possell, CCS executive director, said the cost of the project is approximately $1.5 million.
He said CCS accepted five proposals from five contractors for the project, and narrowed the proposals down to three. A selection committee chose Robinson Construction as a contractor for the project.
Key components of the evaluation for contractors included the builder’s experience with energy-efficient construction, qualifications of staff, and in-house capabilities and designated sub-contractor firms using employees in Kosciusko County.
Plans are for construction to begin in July, and the project to be completed by June.
“We appreciate the contractors who bid on the project and tried to keep the contractor local,” Possell said.
Possell said the existing 110 E. Prairie St. location where CCS is currently housed is a 30-year pole barn that is inadequate with too small of a food pantry, and lack of space for serving client’s confidentiality.
Together with Scearce Rudisel Architects, Robinson Construction completes the design build team for CCS.
CCS is a non-profit agency founded by the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association to prevent duplication of services provided to those in need in Kosciusko County.
Through the support of private donations, local churches, and the United Way of Kosciusko County, Combined Community Services provides comfort, hope and resources for neighbors in need.
