NORTH MANCHESTER ­– Roberta M. Runkel, 89, North Manchester, died at 3:10 a.m. Sept. 27, 2016, at Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester.
She was born May 8, 1927, in Kosciusko County, to Orville and Bertha Parker Correll. On Sept. 14, 1947, she married Rex Runkel, who died Dec. 9, 2004.
She graduated from Burket High ?School in 1945. She was a homemaker and a farm wife. She enjoyed farm life and her involvement in Runkel Farms.
She was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Bippus, and a former member of Servia United Church of Christ, where she had been a deacon, trustee and choir member. 
She was a substitute bus driver for Manchester Community Schools for 21 years and a member of Chester Charmers Home Ec Club for 50 years. 
Survivors include two sons, Gary (and spouse Karen) Runkel and Steve (and spouse Cindy) Runkel, all of North Manchester; a daughter, Connie Runkel Lerner, North Manchester; five grandchildren: Katrina Runkel, Tricia Runkel, Brian Runkel, Jama (and spouse Jorge) Garcia and Torina Runkel; and a great-granddaughter, Layanah Garcia. She was preceded by a brother, Harold Correll, and a sister, Evelyn Harrold.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North ?Manchester, with Pastor Larry Holderbaum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and an hour prior to the service Monday at the mortuary.
