SYRACUSE - Robert W. "Wayne" Rash, 52, of Syracuse, died at 4:55 a.m. June 29, 2010, in Goshen General Hospital.

He was born Dec. 23, 1957, in Abingdon, Va., to Robert Watson and Iva Dean Rash. On Jan. 28, 1994, in Warsaw, he married Brenda L. Hatfield Bess, who survives.

He attended Abingdon High School and moved to Syracuse in the mid 1980s from Abingdon. He worked at Forest River, Goshen, for 13 years, and formerly worked at Keystone RV, Goshen, and Starcraft RV, Topeka. He was a member of the Wawasee Bowling League, Syracuse, and formerly attended Emanuel Baptist Church, Abingdon.

Also surviving are four daughters: Samantha Jo Rash, Syracuse; Melissa Steele and Amanda Steele, both of Kokomo; and Emily Rash, Dayton, Ohio; two stepsons, Warren Bess Jr. and George Bess, both of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; his grandmother, Viola Rash, Abingdon; and two sisters, Lisa Rowe, Kingsport, Tenn., and Donna Rosenbaum, Abingdon. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with the Rev. John Modesitt officiating. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
