Robert Thomas “Tom” Taylor, 55, Warsaw, died at 1:10 p.m. Oct. 24, 2011, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1955, in Warsaw, to Robert S. and Marjorie J. Black Taylor.

He was a lifetime Warsaw resident. Since his senior year of high school and six to seven years following, he was a chef for The Pancake House and at one time worked at Creighton Brothers and Overhead Door. He was a 1974 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He loved his sons. He was a great cook, and Christmas mornings made omelets for the entire family. He took flying lessons, was an avid Notre Dame fan, enjoyed fishing and outdoor life in general and had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Surviving are two sons, Zachary and Ryan Taylor, both of Warsaw; his father, Robert S. Taylor, Warsaw; four brothers: Tim (and spouse Cathy) Taylor, Claypool; Ted Taylor, Warsaw; and Todd and  Troy Taylor, both of Winona Lake; and a sister, Tamra Taylor, Orange City, Fla. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie J. Taylor, who died April 19, 2001.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, Claypool. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Claypool.
