Robert "Rob" Dean Yantz Jr., 50, Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, June 28, 2015. He was born April 22, 1965, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Robert Dean and Patricia Ann Layton Yantz. On Oct. 24, 1987, he married Michelle L. Kohart, who survives in Warsaw. He was a 1983 graduate of Perkins High School in Sandusky, Ohio. He received his B.A. from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, in 1987; and his master’s degree from Indiana Institute of Technology. He had worked for DePuy Orthopaedics Inc., Warsaw, for 15 years, and most recently he had been working as the controller for Paragon Medical in Pierceton, since 2007. He was a past board member of Combined Community Services, past board member of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, and he attended Warsaw Community Church with his family. He was very active in the community and especially in his children’s lives. He loved his daughter Kayla and would do anything for her. He enjoyed being a horse show dad and making sure Kayla’s horses looked perfect for the show ring. He equally loved his son Michael and was always there to encourage him while he played soccer and support him in everything he wanted to do. He will be lovingly remembered as a good friend, son, husband and caring father. Also surviving are his father; his son, Michael Yantz, Warsaw; his daughter, Kayla Lyne Yantz, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and his sister, Jennifer (and spouse Joe) Rose, Sandusky, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with pastor Cindy Gackenheimer officiating.
