PIERCETON – Robert L. Perkins, 80, of Warsaw, passed away at 6:06 p.m. Sept. 28, 2012, in his residence with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 21, 1932, in Pierceton, to Gerald Wayne Perkins and Maude Erma Wood Bailey. On April 26, 1952, he married  Geraldine “Jerry” Hopkins, who precedes him in death.

He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War from 1950-53. Sergeant Perkins was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, Warsaw, and American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.

Surviving are eight children: Cheryl Wallen, Vickie (and spouse Rodney) Mock, Barbara (and spouse Mark) Pozorski, Robert Frank Perkins and Lisa Perkins, all of Warsaw; Kathryn (and spouse Mark) Mathias, Larwill; Mary Jo (and spouse Bob) Pickett, Lafayette; and Brian (and spouse Leslie) Perkins, Arcadia, La.; a brother, Larry G. Perkins, Kennadalle, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marlin “Pete” and Norman Lester Perkins; and a grandson, Joshua Robert Eherenman.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, with military honors by members of VFW Post 1126 and American Legion Post 258.
