PLYMOUTH – Robert L. Cultice Sr., 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Feb. 22, 2014, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
He was born June 16, 1929, in Culver, to Emmitt E. and Marie K. Smeltzer Cultice. On Nov. 14, 1953, in Knox, he married Frieda R. Strefling.
He graduated from Culver High School in 1947 and attended Manchester College. He proudly served his country in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a local insurance agent for more than 50 years and owner of Insurance Services by Cultice; 28 of those years he was at the State Exchange Bank in Culver. He served his community being actively involved in the Lion’s Club, Culver-Union Township United Fund and the Culver Chamber of Commerce. He was a lifetime member of the Indiana Association of Insurance, the Culver VFW Post 6919, Maxinkuckee Country Club and American Lung Association. He and his wife are charter members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Culver.
Surviving are four children: Debra L., Culver; Robert L. (and spouse Denise) Cultice Jr., North Judson; Katherine A. Cultice, Pompano Beach, Fla.; and Dennis E. (and spouse Kris), Warsaw; six beloved grandchildren: Robert L. (and spouse Rachel) Cultice III, Megan Evon, Elizabeth Miller, Kathleen Miller, Evan Cultice and Ryan Cultice; and six precious great-grandchildren: Ava, Charlotte, Nolan and Olivia Cultice, Bryce Meeks and Emma Evon: Tiger (the dog) Cultice; five cousins: Jean Snyder, Joanne Lucas, Tom Cultice, Richard Cultice and Sondra Hubert. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 Academy Road, Culver, with military honors provided by the Culver VFW Post 6919. Burial is in Culver Masonic Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
