MILFORD — Robert “Holly” James Holloway, 69, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at his home on Barbee Lake.
He was born April 26, 1949, the son of James Robert and Fawn Grubbs Holloway. On Oct. 24, 1998, he married the woman he called his bride until the day he died, Janette “Jane” Zimmerman.
In addition to Jane, Holly is survived by five children: Steven Holloway, Niles, Mich.; Trish Holloway, Mishawaka; Holly (Keldon) Arjoonsingh, Wylie, Texas; Dr. Joshua (Krista) Bess, Seattle, Wash.; and Stephanie (Paul) Ulrich, Larwill; 16 grandchildren; two siblings, Linda (Les) Grove, Rochester, and Rick (Diane) Holloway, Orlando, Fla.; a special niece, Lauren Holloway; and his best friend, Mike Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Holly was an unforgettable man. He loved his family and friends with all he had and left no good deed undone.
Holly graduated from Argos High School and retired from R.R. Donnelley after 39½ years of dedicated service. He loved to socialize and was a member of American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, the VFW, the Eagles and the Moose Lodge.
Holly loved to host a good fish fry with his bride, play pool, shoot his handmade darts, sing karaoke, dance and even fish a little … or a lot. He also had a not-so-hidden wood-working talent and enjoyed making oak cabinets for his bride’s storage needs.
A celebration of Holly’s life will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Forest Ridge Family Campground, 5000 N. Elder Road, Larwill.
In keeping with Holly’s wishes, a cremation committal will take place with Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
