NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Robert C. Landis, 78, of Sandwich, Ill., and formerly of Naperville, Ill., died July 19, 2007, in his residence.
He was born July 11, 1929, in Fulton County, to Wilbur and Alberta Landis.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the Burlington/Northern Railroad in 1993, after 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of Church of the Brethren, Naperville, for more than 50 years. He enjoyed collecting baseball memorabilia, visiting with his neighbors and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his children, Michael (and wife Sharon) Landis, Carol Robinson and Mrs. John (Linda) Butler; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Wheeler and Mrs. Dean (Helen) Coplen; two brothers, Don and Dick (and wife JoAnn) Landis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Services were Tuesday at Church of the Brethren, Naperville. A private burial will be held at a later date at Naperville Cemetery.
Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, Naperville, was in charge of arrangements.
