Robert “Bob” George Kachlik, 77, of Warsaw, died Jan. 21, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, surrounded by family.
He was born March 5, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., to Paul and Susan Yurik Kachlik. On April 21, 1956, in Chicago, he married Rita Florence Rehus, who survives.
He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving on the USS Rooks DD804 MM Destroyer. After his discharge, he worked at R.R. Donnelley & Sons for 43 years as a quality consultant, retiring in 1994.
Also surviving are his children: Diana (and spouse Rob) Blazekovich, Marion; Cheryl (and spouse Nick) Schortgen, Karen (and spouse Pat) Houlihan and Michael Robert Kachlik, all of Fort Wayne; Lisa (and spouse Steve) Kroh, Wabash; and Brenda (and spouse Joe) McKee, St. Louis, Mio.; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his older brother, William Kachlik.
Services will be at noon Feb. 4 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, with Father Philip DeVolder officiating. Burial will be at at later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
