Robert “Bob” Clayton Vandermark, 61, of Larwill, died at 8:12 a.m. June 19, 2013, in his residence. He was born July 18, 1951, in Warsaw, to Robert Clayton Sr. and Shirley Mae Hogan Vandermark. On July 29, 1972, in Findlay, Ohio, he married Barbara June Witt, who survives. He owned and operated Vandermark Sign Co. on U.S. 30 in Larwill. He was a resident of Whitley County for the past 30 years. He graduated from Syracuse High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 1978 from Grace College, Winona Lake. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War from 1969 until his honorable discharge in April 1972. Also surviving are a son, Rob Vandermark, Alabama; a daughter, Summer (and spouse Brannon) Davis, Larwill; two grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Geer, Larwill; and three sisters: Marcia Greer, North Port, Fla.; Marcia (and spouse LeRoy) Moon, Elkhart; and Charlotte Andrews, Niles, Mich. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Larwill, with military rites by members of American Legion Post 258, Pierceton, and the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
