ETNA GREEN - Town attorney Jay Rigdon swore new council member Jim Robbins into office at Tuesday night's Etna Green Town Board meeting.

Robbins takes over the open position left by former council member Eileen Hall.

The council approved two new ordinances reducing parts of the 2008 budget.

The first ordinance states the council will not spend $6,700 out of the Motor Vehicle and Highway fund. The second ordinance states the council will not spend $2,000 out of the park fund. The money will be carried over into the 2009 budget.

The Kosciusko Community Foundation denied the council's grant request for a new severe weather siren. Clerk-Treasurer Laura Baker requested permission to get in contact with Indiana Municipal Power Agency to search for other options or grants.

Old Fashioned Days will be Sept 13. A car show starts at 9 a.m. The parade will start at 10 a.m., and food will be served at 11 a.m.

Walnut Street will be closed from National City Bank to the edge of Heritage Park during the festivities.
