Robber Targets Webster Bar

Posted

Stimmelator's Gentleman's Club, North Webster, was robbed this morning at gunpoint.

At 1:47 a.m. a white man entered the building and "calmly and politely" demanded all the money from the cash register, while brandishing a semi-automatic handgun.

Sam Stimmel, owner of the business, said the bar was closing for the evening and the only people inside were employees and one customer. Stimmel described the man as not nervous at all, and said he was very polite while robbing the bartender, calling the worker "Ma'am" and asking for the "money, please," before fleeing out a back entrance with an undisclosed amount of cash.

North Webster Police Chief Greg Church described the man as being between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing 220-240 pounds. He was wearing a floppy, fishing-style hat at the time of the burglary. No other information regarding the suspect was available.

Police were contacted during the burglary when, according to Stimmel, an entertainer noticed what was occurring and very calmly, and without attracting notice, walked to the pay phone and dialed 911. The woman held the phone long enough to connect to the dispatch center then hung up and ran to a back room.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Syracuse Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted. Anyone with information regarding this crime should contact Church at 574-834-2700.
