Roads

The city of Warsaw and the state of Indiana did such a fine job of coordinating efforts on the road work currently going on in Warsaw. Not! Two major arteries coming into Warsaw from the west are closed or down to one lane. Market Street has been closed or one-lane traffic for months. It still looks like there is quite of work to be done. In the middle of this work, the city decides to put in new curbs on Winona Avenue exactly parallel to the work on Market Street. Now major work is happening on Winona Avenue. Market and Winona aren't the only traffic nightmares. Coming into Warsaw from the south on Ind. 15 is an adventure in itself. It too is closed or down to one lane. No detour signs. Unless the driver is from the area, he/she does not know the ways to get around this mess rather than sitting minute after minute waiting for his/her turn at proceeding north.

Center Street isn't closed but at times a bit nerve racking to maneuver around the corners. Using the turn-right-on-red option is useless because one has to pull out so far into the other lane to avoid the barricades. What's wrong with starting work on one street and completing it before starting work on the street adjacent to it? I hope there were valid reasons for all this. I don't remember seeing a notice apprising people of the upcoming work. Both my husband and I read the paper and what one will miss the other won't.
