Rita K. Schalk, 73, of Harrison, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 12, 2011.
She was born in Leyland, England, to Harry and Elizabeth Kenyon. Her husband, Richard, survives.
She attended Bolton Technical College and married former husband, Ronald Rees, before immigrating to the United States in 1964. She worked as an executive secretary for several companies in the Chicago area, as well as for announcer Paul Harvey. She also worked for more than 20 years with the law firm of  Miller, Tolbert, Muehlhausen, Muehlhausen, Groff & Damm, Logansport. A vivacious, fun-loving person with a strong Christian faith, she was kind, considerate, good-hearted and truly a blessing to all who knew her.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marjorie (and spouse Roy) Entwistle and Barbara (and spouse Maurice) Chapman; a daughter, Susan (and spouse Scott) Heck; a son, Michael (and spouse Peggy) Rees; stepchildren, Debbie (and spouse Rick) Rauen, Perry Schalk and Sherry (and spouse Jerry) Callahan; five grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Warsaw.
