SYRACUSE – Rita E. Piotrowski, 73, Syracuse, passed away peacefully in her sleep Aug. 30, 2014, at her residence. She was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Hammond, to Harold and Esther Pilot Neumaier. In 1963, she married Jim Piotrowski, who survives. She retired from teaching in 1995 from Fairview Elementary School in Bloomington. She moved to Syracuse in 1995. Also surviving are her daughter, Leslie Piotrowski, Bloomington; two sisters, Edith (and spouse Hank) Filkowski, Crown Point, and Janice (and spouse Dennis) Keefer, Lenexa, Kan.; her brother, Bob (and spouse Judy) Neumaier, Syracuse. Services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Father Edward Erpelding officiating. Her wonderful spirit and joy will be further celebrated immediately following at South Shore Golf Club.
