Justin Risner is running for one of two Warsaw City Council at-large seats. Also running for the seats are incumbent Cindy Dobbins, Connie Fribley, Patrick Loebs, Juergen Voss, Jack Wilhite and David Baumgartner. “I chose to run because like many other residents in this city, I believe in a limited, completely transparent government,” Risner said in a press release. “Within the last few years the mayor and city council have been passing through ordinances that go against our Constitutional rights. I intend to do something about that. I am willing to fight big government, and be the voice of the community.” He also said in his announcement, “Governmental problems have been running deep in this country and I believe it can be fixed starting at our local levels. I dont believe our personal aspects such as healthcare, schooling and private property should be handled by an administration of any sort. We as a community need to get more involved." He said he wants to teach people that as citizens, "it is our duty to keep an eye on our elected officials, get involved and hold them accountable if need be.” He added, “You can trust me to always speak for the people, the Constitution, and The Bill of Rights. I live for my family and freedom as well as yours.”
