Ringing The Bells

Saturday, the Kosciusko County Shrine Club took their turn "Ringing the Bells" for the Salvation Army. For many years we have helped in this endeavor, but I've never had an experience like this happen before.

A mother brought her young daughter and son by as I was ringing the bells. She gave each child a handful of change. As they were putting the money in the bucket, she explained what the Salvation Army was all about. She then explained why the bucket was there, and why I was ringing the bells. By the time the mother and her children went into Owen's, I was crying.

It was heartwarming to see a young mother instilling in her children the gift of giving and passing along the mission of the Salvation Army to our next generation.
