Rigdon Chairs Campaign For GarzaSERVICE UNTO OTHERS – Early this week, Kosciusko County Superior Court III judge candidate Antony Garza announced local attorney Jay A. Rigdon as his campaign chairman.
Garza is running against Chad Miner, the GOP nominee who defeated Lindsey Grossnickle, Robert Bishop and Karin McGrath in the primary. Voting for the race will be Tuesday, Nov. 3.
‘LIGHT’ ON – Speaking of Garza, if you follow his campaign on Facebook – we try to follow all the campaigns as we become aware of them – earlier this week he received a video endorsement from one of Kosciusko County’s most respected and admired women – former Kosciusko County Community Foundation CEO Suzie Light.
As she states in the video, Light is not known for publicly talking about politics, so the video was a surprise.
Garza previously sat on the board of directors for the Foundation so they’ve known each other for a while. You can find Light’s endorsement on Facebook at Garza for Judge.
BROKER AWARD – Now living in the Chicago area, Lewis R. Jones used to be the executive director of Combined Community Services, about 10 (give or take) years ago.
On Thursday, we learned that he was one of two 2020 Managing Brokers of the Year, named by the Chicago Association of Realtors.
His specific award is for “Managing Broker of the Year for between 1-50 Licensees.”
Jones is a broker at Coldwell Banker Realty - Oak Park.
LOCKER CHOICE – Warsaw Community High School announced its new locker procedures for 2020-21.
Lockers will be provided to any student who wants one. For the first week of school, students are advised to “walk their schedule” and then determine if they want a locker and where the best location would be.
On Aug. 21, any student wanting a locker must complete a Google form to make that request. The form will be on the WCHS website at www.warsawschools.org/o/wchs.
Upperclassmen can request their previous locker until Aug. 28.
